How to look after your hair extensions

Although our hair extensions are of the highest quality, it is imperative that you take good care of them and follow our guidelines:

• We strongly advise that you do not wash your hair for at least 48 hours after having your hair extensions fitted as the bonds need time to set.
• Wash your hair a maximum of twice a week as the less stress put on your hair, the longer your hair extensions will last.
• For the first few days after your hair extensions have been fitted, you may notice some discomfort when you sleep. This is perfectly normal and will disappear after 4 to 5 days.
• Take good care of your hair and make sure you gently dry it as hair extensions last longer and look better when you take proper care of them. Use a hair extension brush where possible and try not to brush more than once a day.
• Always use a shampoo and conditioner that is recommended for hair extensions only.
• To minimise tangling and knotting when you sleep, we would recommend that you do your hair into a loose plait.
• Around 4 weeks after the hair extensions have been fitted, we urge you to book a maintenance appointment to allow a hairdresser to look at your hair and remove or replace any loosened bonds.
• Although you can style your hair extensions in the same way as you would your own hair, be careful not to continually bleach them.
• Ensure that you do not leave your hair extensions in for longer than 3 months as once they get to a certain length it is easy for them to become matted.
• You may find that some of your own hairs are coming out after having the hair extensions fitted. Again, this is perfectly normal and is just due to the natural daily shedding of your hair.
